Oh mate, the grub at The Rose is proper top-notch! The breakfast spread was pure bliss, and the food downstairs is a delight without burning a hole in your pocket. Plus, parking's a breeze – a rarity in York’s bustling streets!
One cheeky issue was the mattress – too soft for my liking, if I'm honest. The bathroom could do with a touch-up for modern convenience, but let’s keep that old-world charm, right?

A fine choice for exploring York, great value for money overall. The food in the pub was excellent, especially the Steak & Ale pie! Stay away from the busy road-facing rooms for a quieter night.

we stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time! the food was yummy, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. our large double room was comfy and clean. The location was perfect for exploring york! the breakfast was def one of the highlights, absolutely lovely. free parking was a nice bonus too.
the noise from the street was a bit much at times and the mattress could use an upgrade. also, the bathroom could have been cleaned better.
